I'm doing a spot of recruiting for a lovely company looking for a Software Tester based in the North West of England. The environment is a mix of agile and waterfall methodologies. The team constantly review and adopt new technologies to find innovative solutions to technical problems.
Working alongside the existing team of friendly and helpful software development/testing folk, you'll be supported by an experienced Test Manager.
What will you be doing with yourself during the day?
Well, you'll be spending a lot of your time producing test estimates, test plans, test scenarios/cases and test scripts, all the good stuff that makes you an already awesome Tester.
You'll enjoy providing support during the UAT phases, and you'll get a buzz out of helping the developers during the unit test phase (they're a welcoming bunch).
If development and implementation of improvements to the over SDLC is your thing, you'll love spending time working with a passionate and enthusiastic software development team that will really enable you to flex those Testing muscles.
What will you have involved yourself in before?
Ideally you'll have spent some time working with multiple software development methodologies and using JIRA (or something similar to).
You'll almost certainly have competent planning skills, coupled with a high capacity to think strategically when required.
You'll be able to demonstrate an ability to translate business and technical requirements into test conditions and scripts, using the right tools at the right time. Your broad commercial knowledge will be second only to your general business acumen and you'll love getting involved in discussions about the best tools/methodologies to use for the job.
Ok, sounds like a cool environment. How much will I be paid and what are the benefits?
I'm glad you've asked.
The pay and benefits are available if you crawl through this tiny space with lots of bugs and win 8 stars.
Only kidding... call Amy on the number below or pop an email through and I will reveal all.
P.S. If you don't have an up to date CV, or you might be interested but you don't fancy being pushed into anything, get in touch anyway. We can have a chat about the market and I'm on hand for free, friendly advice.
