In short they are looking for someone hungry to learn and passionate about technology, who believes they can make a difference to come in and be trained as a Release Engineer in their cutting edge software production environment.
Perhaps you are a recent IT graduate looking for an exciting start in the tech sector; or you may have experience in application support OR IT support but want to progress your career to the next level. Given the training and mentoring involved, my client are open to considering people from a variety of experience backgrounds, whether that is software development or support. Some of the areas which you will be mentored and gain experience include the following...
- Learn how to project manage the release lifecycle including deployment, QA/test, release of new web/mobile products.
- Understand how to plan and estimate upcoming releases based of the project roadmap
- Learn how to deliver multiple releases of customer centric projects in a best practice Agile environment

If you know what things like continuous delivery, continuous integration & version control are then that is a fantastic start! From there my client will help you understand how to analyse and manage the release lifecycle as a fully trained release engineer.You will need to have a passion for technology, for making processes better and ideally have some knowledge of either software development OR IT Support / Application Support.
